Pole wrapping-new dimension

When I use the term pole wrapping I mean arashi shibori and it looks like this:

Now I think that shibori has the knitters a little crazed, but they sure have given a new dimension to pole wrapping.

I would like to know if you steam the pole wrap after it has be dyed with acid dye....
Yes, I do steam the poles, but to set the pleats not the dye. Look at the entries "How an ENTWINEMENTS scarf is made". Especially this entry,http://entwinements.com/blog-mt3/2006/10/how_an_entwinements_scarf_is_made5.html#more. You can also find more info on using acid dyes in my book, SHIBORI:creating color and texture on silk.
